    Hi guys,

I have a digital camcorder that records directly to MPEG2 format on an SD card. Each seperate video has it's own single video file. I can copy them to my pc hard drive and they play just like a regular mpeg/dvd file. The File extension is .MOD because that is what the software that came with the camera uses, but I can change the extension to .VOB and they still play the Same.

What I need is a recommendation for a program that will let me burn them onto a dvd that will play in a standalone player. Since the .Vob files are already created and ready to go, I don't think I would need to do any encoding/conversion/etc. I just need something that will let me burn the files "as is" in whatever file structure is needed so they will be recognized by a regular player, without any changes/conversion/loss of quality, etc. Other than that, all I need it to do is create a basic menu(s) with a thumnail for each video.

I think it would be simple, but I'm new to this so it may be more complicated than I think. I looked through the software links, but couldn't really tell what program would do what I needed.

    Thanks for any help.

  2. Change the extension MOD to MPG and see if it still plays. In any case, I can recommend an authoring program called TMPGEnc DVD Authtor. You can find it in the tools section on the left. There is a trial version you can try before you buy. I think it costs about $70.

I tried TMPGEnc and I think I've just about got everything figured out. It should work for what I need.

    Thanks for the Recommendation!
