  1. I've backed up a couple of DVD's using smart ripper ( Nemo was one of them )

Tried to use DVDShrink 3.1.2 ( i.e. the latest ) to compress. On both occasions, it gets so far and then stops with "DVD Shrink has encountered an error" ( or something like that )

Anyone else with similar problems ?

Is it a problem with 3.1.2 ? Is it posible to get an earlier version of shrink from somewhere ?

Never had a problem with DVDshrink, but you can download older versions from their website.

I got the same message while making a backup of Ken Burns Civil War. Tried version 3.1.2 and 3.0 beta 5. Both gave the same error while performing the initial read of the disk.

I used DVD Decrypter to rip then DVDShrink. Worked great. It was odd that only 2 of the 5 disc set gave the error. The other 3 were ripped with DVDShrink. Great program, by the way. Hats off to Mr. Shrink.

Here is a great guide for DVD Decrypter.

    Good Luck,
