I am fairly new to the DvD copying world. I am using DVDXCOPY to backup my DvDs. I have copied two DvDs and while they seem to work just fine on my computer DvD player, they seem to be very tempermental on my regular DvD player, sometimes playing just fine and at other times refusing to even start.
The original DvDs play just fine on both comp and DvD player.
I am using a generic DvD-r brand. Would this make a diff?
Any help is much appreciated.

Or just buy Ritek G04 disks, they seem to work with the majority of players.
Look up your DVD player in the list on the left to see if anyone has any reccomendations. -
What's the media ID - and have you checked that against the list of players on the left to see if yours can play them ?
You need something like DVD Info to get the media ID. Generic is way to vague to be subjective at this stage.
