  1. I recently purchased an LG GSA-4040B burner after following the step in this forum to make a DVD I encounter an error in nero that tells me that I'm unable to burn the file because the drive is being used by another program. I tried the writer following boot and as far as I can tell no other programs that would involve the burner are running. The drive plays CD/DVD's it just won't burn any. Could I have improperly installed it?

    Any suggestions are appreciated

  2. You have to turn off the "imapi.exe" Look in task manager for this process. Actually, you may want to set IMAPI (burning program built into Windows) to "manual" in services under computer administration.

  3. Is there perhaps something else that would cause this? IMAPI is set to manual and isn't running in the task manager.

  4. Do you have any Packet writing software installed. You know, the kind of thing that lets you use a CDRW as a big floppy drive?

I had exactly the same problem with WIN XP and Nero 6. Updated to latest Nero 6.3.0.2 and the problem is now gone and everything is working perfectly
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!
