  1. Has anyone experimented with using a digital camcorder with analog inputs to digitaly capture analog inputs? I have a Canon 100mc and am hoping to use it similar to a Dazzle Holywood Bridge unit with my Studio DV and firewire interface.

  2. Yes I use a Sony TRV-17. It sure beats using a capture card to a computer in that the quality seems better than my all in wonder pro 128 32mb. I back up to a tape or use it as a passthrough. I am extremely pleased with the result.

  3. Do you have any tips or tricks for the passthrough to work? Are you using Studio DV for your processing, and if so what do you have to worry about sending a play signal to your camcorder?

  4. I use the passthough on occasion (I have a sony). However most of the time I just record to mini dv tape since the majority of the time its easier than moving whatever it is i'm capturing from closer to the computer. I use Studio DV and really have no tips or tricks cause it has always worked as it was suppose to. I'm not sure what you mean by "do you have to worry about sending a play signal to your camcorder." One thing about studio DV, it works really good however you will get better quality from exporting to an avi and then using tmpg to convert to mpeg.
