urgent advise needed on ND-2500A

Hi Guys,
I am being tempted to purchsae this drive by the price. Is there any review available ?. Please somebody share their experience on this drive. Does it write 4X media at 8X like Plextar?. How does it go with Memorex media ? I searched all over the net and could not find much info.

Not much info because almost nobody has it yet. I wasn't even aware you could actually put your hands on one yet.

P.S. If, however, its quality is like the 1100A and the 1300A before it, then it'll be top-notch. Plextor's units are based on NEC's engines lately, although I'm not 100% sure about their 8x.

Cool. Post back when you actually get it. How much was it? I have to pick up a new drive, and might consider swapping my Plextor 504 for this one if the price is right.

I hate to rain on your parade but the review at this site did NOT leave a good taste in my mouth for the NEC 2500. The 2500 is compared against the new Pioneer A07 which is to be released this month.

Be sure and read PAGE 2 as this is where the meat of the review is.
