An update has been made to VCDGear. It resolves the previous issues with some wierd BIN images.

Also you now are able to choose the ripping program in the configuration options. Either VCDGear or VcdXRip.

    More details here
    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

    Hi
I have been using svcd2dvd for quite a number of months now, i have updated to the latest version which is 1.5.2003.2 (this was because i was having problems with the release just before this where it started to use the vcdgear prog for ripping). This is the first time i have posted on this forum since using the program. I have read other peoples posts on this forum so i have done all the updating available and i am running the latest build.
My problem is that i cannot get any movie to get pass the audio encoding bit where it converts 44 to 48 this is if i use the vcdgear to rip the mpegs from the bin images, and if i select the option to use the standard vcdxrip then it just sits at the beginning screen where it says Begin Time: and nothing happens.
A copypaste of the vcdxrip error is below.
I would like to go back to an earlier version i have but whenever i install it it wants to go and get an update and then updates to the latest version, is there way i can stop this update happening as all was fine till this new update/final version.

    Thanks

Forgot to say that i have tried both setting the option to fix when ripping and also left this off and still it gives me the same results when using the vcdgear for ripping.
Can i not just stick with an older version that will not ask for the update and not use the vcdgear for ripping as i know the latest version has the option to use the old ripping prog but this makes no difference when selected it doesn't even ge as far as the first.
    any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
I usally create a Nero Image of my SVCDs or VCDs and extract with the M2F option on ISObuster. Or if you have the files burn them to a nero vcd or svcd and burn an image to your machine then extract with Isobuster.

I have found a serious bug with this program (svcd2dvd) when you use it to convert SVCDs. It alters your original files and unbeknown to me it had truncated them! Luckily I had a backup of the original. build 1.5.1442.20245

The video was still out of sync using this program so I uses the IFOEdit and VobEdit method with Besweet which worked fine. (IFO Edit Method with BSweet)

Besweet seems to have a problem doing this in one go (The mp2 not correctly accepted by ifoedit) so after you demuxed (TMPGEnc tools) your video
    1)Decode to wave ( I used mp3dec )
    2)Convert to 48khz (Besweet)
    3)reencode to mp2 (Besweet).

Do all this in 3 separate steps otherwise the resultant file is not liked by ifoedit and causes a buffer overrun.

    zomig.

I have updated the build. The old engine is back and working. Redownload either the update or the full msi.

  6. Hi
I have uninstalled the previous version and re-downloaded the full version from website, the vcdxrip is now back working but this has now created another problem, whenever i want to convert from bin images a film it goes through all the motions fine until it gets to the part where it created the VTS files/folders then it creates a few of the files and then stop saying completed tried this on two sepreate films which previously worked fine, the other strange thing is if i run the whole process again but skip the part about ripping from the bin (as the files are already there from the previous go) it goes through fine and created the VTS files as normal. Anyideas why this is happening ?

After you have installed the above (1.5.2003.2) - if you intend to use the old ripping engine the you need to download the following update: SVCD2DVD 1.5.2003.3.zip. Just unzip & replace your SVCD2DVD.exe file.
