I am trying to use QuickTime Pro 6.4 to deinterlace a 1.5 GB .mov. Under movie properties I have checked "single field" but when I save it as a self-contained movie it does not deinterlace.

    What am I doing wrong?

  2. It just playing with single field option...Try to upgrade to QT 6.5 and check it with that...There is new button under "Quality" option called "Deinterlace Fields"... or use FinalCut PRO...There is also one free deinterlacer, but I forgot the name of that app...Try to find it on Versiontracker...

  3. JES Deinterlacer is very nice.

Features: deinterlace movies (half height/normal height/double frame rate/blend). Change field dominance (for PAL films with fake interlace). Trim, shift, simple color correction. Change encoding (RGB gamma, video range/full range). Fix jagged edges. Pitch preserving sound track for half speed. Carbon application (for Mac OS 9.2.2 and Mac OS X).

Thanks havema-1, JES Deinterlacer worked great. Unlike ffmpegX, QuickTime Pro (6.5), and Mencoder this program actually deinterlaced the video, imagine my surprise.
