  1. I have downloaded several DIVX movies at a Pay Per View site, I'm trying to convert these to (S)VCD but so far no program can do it.
Anyone got a clue how to do this?

  3. Believe me, I tried all the programs you've linked there.
I think it has something to do with the fact that the films are Pay Per View. And to the fact that the film makes an internet connection to verify Username and Password

i think he means DIVX pay per view , not DiVX (the video codec) ....

if so --- i think you are out of luck (i suggest contacting someone who collects these or do a big www search) -- i do know that there where a limited number of machines made for certain people which will play all divx disks without authorize ..... not many of those around though ...
there is also some date trick thing -- but you need a divx machine of course ....

So the films you want to convert do not belong to you?

I think he means the encrypted DivX movies that only play for 24 hours. An internet version of the DVD's that turn black after 3 days.

They are indead DivX 5 movies. They are also encrypted and have a wicked DRM player you need to use.

Backing them up is technically against the forum rules since you bought them as PPV. It says that right in the EULA, you only get 24 hours. It's like backing up Blockbuster, Netflix, or the Library.

Having said that I know it can be done, but not how. There's not a lot of reason for someone to make an application to do that......
