Don't cripple your system with poor drive performance!!! SATA or UDMA 133 are the only way to go!

  5. Thanks for the replys

    OS... WinXP Home SP1a

Drives... I considered buying new SATA drives but I've got so many UATA drives I hate to junk them out. I'm going to have 2-80Gs on Raid-0 Array for capture files, 2-30Gs in removable drive trays, 1 for capture OS and 1 for everything else OS, and a 20G internal for nothing but to store drive image files on (Ghost). I still have 3 other UATA drives in the closet I not using. I'm drive poor.

    lol

  6. Update.

Got that beast running last night and boy does it rock. I'm surprised how easily it captures MPEG2.

    Settings:
    ATI MMC V8.5, 720x480 MPEG2-DVD, VBR 8.0 Max - 6.0 Average.

CPU load - only 13% to 18% during capture.

That 9800 PRO card is something else. You wouldn't believe!!!

By what I'm seeing this is going to be a good video system.
