I've been married almost eight years to a woman who understands my weird hobbies, including hours away video editing.
As long as you make an effort to keep surprising her (in a good way) and treating her the same way you did when you first met her, you'll be hitched happily for life. It's worked for me so far.
I just re-read this...ugh, kindy syrupy.

Over forty years and never married. Friends and co-workers tell me I'm the smartest man they'd ever known. Why buy the cow ? Right ? Besides, you never own the cow, the cow owns you.
BTW, I gotta tell this quick story of one of my friends. When he was younger, and dating his one and only wife, she would make him home made cat head biscuits and gravey, every morning for 15 months. Then they got married and now makes him canned biscuits and no gravey. The way he figures it, the home made biscuits were "Getcha biscuits" and the canned biscuits are "Gotcha biscuits". A lesson for me he say's. Also he says sex was an every day thing before they married. Now it's on holidays and birthdays, usually his.Coffee makes you happy.....Except when it messes you up -
I've been married to the same woman for moe than 38 years and I'm still deeply in love with her. I think I must have married Mary Poppins - in my book she's "pretty near perfect in every way!"

Marriage # 1 is going on almost 5 years...though I almost mucked it up about a year and a half ago...
Life Lesson...never buy a laptop on a nearly maxed out credit card without telling the wife
And by God there better not be marriage # 2...I very much doubt any other woman would take me"I argue very well. Ask any of my remaining friends. I can win an argument on any topic, against any opponent. People know this, and steer clear of me at parties. Often, as a sign of their great respect, they don't even invite me."

1st and only wife. 16 years. If something happens (God forbid) I will never marry again. 16 years of training and I'm still not exactly like she wants me. A different woman will want me a different way and I just don't have the time to learn from scratch.
Did I hear someone mention sex....I've read about that....
Seriously though....I have a theory to creating a happy marriage....
You ever see a young couple out together? They are interactive with each other, they hold hands, they talk and laugh.....
You ever see a middle aged couple who has been married for a while? They are not so interactive, the woman does most of the talking and the man just nods a lot but will speak occasionally.
You ever see an older couple who has been married for a long time? The woman is always talking and the man is always looking at the ground never saying a word.
So I think the secret to marital longevity is for us men to just learn to shut up, just don't talk.
Just remember fellas, I know the grass may look greener on the other side, but no matter how good she looks, how nice she appears to be there is some guy some where who is tired of putting up with her. -
Married just over 2 years here (together for almost 6 months before we got married). Just had the first kid and he's the one who decides when the sex happens, not me or my wife.

One marriage for me. We celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary on December 23rd.
I can't even begin to say how grateful I am for her in my life...
