I've heard many people talk of creating a user account in Windows XP where they do their video editting. Their reasoning is because they can set the account to startup without a lot of the standard memory hogging programs that run on their normal user account (AntiVirus, Game Utilities, etc). My question is how are you guys doing this?
I created a video editting account and from inside the account I went to msconfig and disabled a lot of crap from the startup tab. The problem is that these settings actually take effect for all user accounts instead of just the video editting account. If I uncheck Norton Antivirus from the video editting account then Norton doesn't run the next time I log into my regular account.
How can I create custom startup settings for individual users?

Anything that runs as a service can't be on a per user basis. Services are things like a firewall or Norton. You can disable these services (set to manual), but you are asking for major trouble (disabling a virus scanner is generally a bad thing).
People create accounts to do things as other than administrator (master account). Administrators can really screw things up, while a regular user generally can't break much. However, certain functions require admin access. To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan
