  1. I would have thought this to be straight forward, but alas I am a newbie.
    Here is what I want to do.
    Take a mpeg2 file and cut it. That's it.
    2 Standalone pieces.
    What software can do this for me?
    I want the two pieces to be the same type of file as the original.
    Also if the cutting program can handle any type of file that would be a bonus.

    TMPGEnc Plus. Use the Merge & Cut function in MPEG Tools.

    You'll see that tmpg tools are far from perfect and that womble ones are much better

  5. Of course, cut at I-frame, the fastest available, and very compliant with mpeg2 standards (compare to tmpg...)
