I just got a DVR-106D for Christmas. I have a dual 1.25 GHz G4. I move the CD burner down to the 2nd optical bay and installed the superdrive in the upper bay. Restarted the computer and it recognized the superdrive just fine. However, the tray can't eject becaue it doesn't fit in the slot.
Anyone have any suggestions? I reopened up the computer and removed the plastic faceplate but that didn't help either.
Thanks in advance

Well, not an apple user, but you should be able to buy a firewire external enclosure for about £35/$40 i think and just put your drive in that. Then you will be able to use it on other computers as well and you don't need to go tampering with the drive.
I would definitely sugest you get a seperate dvd reading drive just so you don't burn out the motor in your dvd burner sooner than you need to. With the price of dvd rom drives it is cheaper to get one than risk shortening the life of an expensive burner. -
thanks for the tip, however the only problem is that apple's applications like idvd will only recognize an internal dvd burner.
and good point about playing dvds, I hadn't thought about that
