Until now I've been using an AIW video card to capture MPEG2 off TV & home movies off analogue camcorder.
I've now changed my PC & have lost the use of the AIW. I am now looking at either a H/W capture device (such as Adaptec's Videoh! DVD Media Centre) or a stand alone DVD Recorder (I like the look & price of the Phillips DVR70 - been a Phillips fan for years!)
I tend to record when away from home, so can't accurately set start/stop times fpr the programme or "pause-out" commercialls, so I edit them out on the PC afterwards & then author a DVD (prefferably with chapters and/or simple with menus - using Ulead Videostudio or DVD Workshop)
My Q is, as I really want to have a DVD disc with a one or a series of programmes on it without the cr*p before or after, or festooned with commerials, how easy is it to extract the recording from a DVDR recorded on a standalone (especially the Phillips) so I can edit/author/re-burn on my PC burner?
Thanks for any help
Nez
