Ok, which personal video recording software for a home entertainment PC do people use or recommend. I'm planning to upgrade my current ATI TV WONDER PCI capture card to an ATI AIW Radeon 7500 (or better) and use it as my digital VCR and JukeBox. Just want to get an idea of what people have tried and which ones they recommend.

What! No replies yet. Doesn't anyone use multimedia software for a multimedia PC yet?

  3. What exactly do you want ?... there's software for create Multimedia aplications (like Multimedia CD-ROMs) that contains images, text, sounds, photos, video... The best are Macromedia's Director and Flash...an entry "easy one" would be Movieworks...
You sound that you want a "VCR-like" to play your stuff on PC... to "record" and edit videos I use a NLE (trough firewire) in capture mode... to play (or maybe to "check", I use Media Player or PowerDVD...) (I'm not a big-fan of using the PC instead of my home theater system for music and video..)

If you are using ATI card, use ATI MMC. (ATI MultiMedia Center)

I've used these before, they did nothing but piss me off:
    1. Snapstream Beyond TV
    2. Showshifter
    4. Windows XP Media Center

Buggy software. Very buggy at times, liked to crash. Showsifter and Snapstream seem to be almost the same program too.

    Never used this one:
    3. Frey Technologies Sage TV
