  1. We have InSight Digital Cable which uses the General Instruments Digital Cable Boxs.
I am capturing from the composite Audio and Video jacks on the cable box.
Does any one know what video resolution digital cable outputs on the digital channels?
It must be diffferent than the old analog channels because the difference between the quality of a movie between the digital channels and analog channels is very noticable on my big screen TV which has a resolution of 800 pixels.
The analog channels look grainy while the digital channels are very clear, not as good as DVD but close and with a great looking picture.

Probably just broadcast resolution. The "digital" signal is just digitally compressed analog in most cases. Few are actually true digital signals like satellite uses.

If it is true digital, probably no more than 352x480 or 480x480.
