does anybody know how to convert streaming video to VCD compliant MPEG-1?
i would like to convert the Clone Wars episodes from starwars.com to VCD so i can watch them on my tv...
i tried using quicktime to save it, but it wouldnt let me.
i tried simply using TMPGEnc, but i got the problem of having no audio.
if anybody knows any tricks, or what software to use, it would be greatly appreciated . . .

Do you have Quicktime Pro installed? That allows you to save Quicktime movies. Plus, it's only like 20 bucks, it even lets you convert files to mpeg-4 and to edit Quicktime movies.
Plus, if you're a member of Hyperspace, you can get higher resolution versions that translate really well. -
If i save it using QuickTime Pro, it does not actually save the movie to my hard drive. it just saves a very small file that requires an internet connection to play.
i will try a couple other things later today. i will also look around in the tools section here. i didnt think of that before putting up my post...asdf -
Just open the saved file using Notepad and try each of the URLs(web addresses) in it. You should eventually be able to find the one that points to the real movie(the link to the real movie may be one or two files deep, but it's usually in the main file).
