  1. Which program (or set of programs) do you feel is the best and the easiest to use that will achieve the best quality in getting a dvd9 to dvd5? I realize that using CCE is the best way to go for almost perfect quality but do not want to spend the time and effort everytime I want to copy a dvd. I have used dvdfab, dvdxcopy, and dvdshrink and just wondered what everyone else likes to use. I've seen the comparisons on the forums here and done my own and can't determine a clear cut winner for me so just want to get an idea of what everyone else uses.

I like using DVDshrink or CloneDVD. I like to keep original menus but not all the extras.

I like DVDShrink because of the easy way it provides of cutting the intro and the end credits of a movie. That way, putting the compression quality aside, I often have to compress less (for movie only) than on other software.

DVD Shrink is a brilliant piece of software for the job if you need speedy processing!!!
I still use CCE though for the odd movie that wont come out proper with DVDShrink.

  5. trancer70, if you "can't determine a clear cut winner", I'd suggest you base your choice on criteria other than image quality:
    Ease of use, flexibilty, limitations,...

DVDShrink is easiest(Deep Analysis is worht the effort for less than 90% comression).
TMPGEnc is 'best' but takes 4-Ever when re-encoding a whole DVD in 2-pass VBR.
