  1. Hi,

I export my Home DVD video as MEPG2 files and here is the MEPG 2 Source setting.

    MPEG 2 format
    352 x 480
    29.97fps
    4000 Kbps
    256 kbps

I will use DVD Workshop for video cutting and motion video. But here is my quesiton.
At the end when i click make disc to DVD. There are many setting i can choose like
    - High quality 8000kbps 60 mins DVD
    - Fair quality 6000kbps 90 mins DVD
    - Low quality 4000 kbps 120 mins DVD
    - Half D1 2400kbps 352 x 480 4hr per DVD etc....

Which one i should choose for best quality. (I understood my MEPG 2 souce above is in low quality but just hope to maintain the same quality or hope tweak better if possible)
The MEPG 2 files is about 3.8GB and is about 2 hours and 40 minutes long. Someone told me that it may be even worst if your Source is low quality but you burn it in High quality. Is that true?

  2. Those settings are for the built-in encoder. Your source is (or at least appears to be) already DVD compliant, so you should not have to re-encode.
DVD workshop has a tick box (can't rememebr exactly where) labelled something like 'do not convert compliant video'. Find it and tick it. No re-encoding should take place and it should use your source mpeg 'as is'.
