  1. can i rip a dvd to my hardrive so i just have the mpeg2 file and the audio file insted of the vob files? i read some were u can do it with smartripper is this true?

    Can do it both with SmartRipper and DVDDecrypter.

    In both cases you go to the settings and select stream handling

    In DVDDecrypter, you go to Mode-->IFO Mode.

    Then the individual VTS and PGCs are shown. You need to know it's number or duration to be able to select the one you want.

    Once you find the correct one, switch to the Stream Processing tab, enable Stream Processing, select the video and demux and select the audio and demux.

    In SmartRipper it is done in quite a similar way. I don't recommend SmartRipper since I had repeated problems with some disks and never had a problem with DVDDecrypter.
    The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
