  7. As I understand it looking at Nero site, if you have the full retail Nero 5.5 you can download the latest version of 6.0 free as long as you do it before the end of the year

You can only get free if you bought 5,5 after a certain date.

Oem versions won't qualify for the new features (powerpak etc.

I think you can upgrade at nero if you don't qualify for free for like $49

check out nero's site for all the details

    Please note:
A free upgrade is only available for users who have purchased the Nero 5.5 Retailbox version (NOT the OEM version that came bundled with your drive or PC) after the 1st of May 2003.

    1. Who is qualified for the Nero PowerPack?

Everyone who has bought the Nero 6 Ultra Edition serial number or retail box is qualified for the Nero PowerPack.

Customers who have our OEM versions suite 1 and 2 will not qualify for the free download. OEM suite 3 users will qualify for the download but NOT for the free PowerPack Lame MP3 encoder.

    4. Can I purchase the Nero PowerPack if I am NOT qualified to get it for free?

We are not offering the PowerPack as a single product. But to get it anyhow you can upgrade your Nero version to the Nero 6 Ultra Edition (retailversion) at a cost of US$ 49.99. After that you are qualified to get the PowerPack for free.

It's Nero Express,if it looks too good to be true it is:
    www.pricegrabber.com/user_sales_getprod.php/masterid=894660/lot_id=416435/ut=4251f060b4da36ab
    www.pricegrabber.com/user_sales_getprod.php/masterid=894660/lot_id=316789/ut=4251f060b4da36ab
The OEM package does NOT support MPEG-2(SVCD or DVD).

BTW...I d/l 5.5.10.54(I know..I know, but I haven't used Nero in a LONG time) and the bundled version that came with my Lite-On works with my Optorite when using Nero Express!I burned a DVD+R and it worked on both of my DVD players.
    I still prefer RecordNow DX.

    Happy holidays everyone.
