  1. Hey all

Got my hands on the new Pioneer DVR 310 this weekend and thought I'd share the units great features seeing theres not much at all about this unit out there on the web. Firstly I'll answer my own question posted a few weeks ago, yes the unit can record "Standard digital signal ( SDTV )" from a set top box, and it does it well in Standard 2 hour record and High
Quality 1 hour. EP record 3 hour mode is good, but on sports or fast moving shots does pixel up a bit. Other modes beyond 3 hour recording are just very average. Setup was a simple and painless thanks to a well written manual and fully featured remote, Philips can learn alot here. The play back using a component setup is A1, colours and picture sharpness is spot on. The finish and electronics of this unit are A1 as well, for a street price of $850 Australian this unit is a great buy, 3 year warranty thrown in as well for piece of mind. Love to here from people who are using this unit as well.

I have the same recorder and I am having problems with errors when I finalize a disc and I am recording in video mode 50% of the ones I have done have errors and won't let me do a complete copy of the disc to the computer. I also don't think the color output is that good.

  3. Sorry to hear that, I can not play finalized DVD-RW on my computer in VR mode, in Video mode no problems, menus and all features include. I have a Philips 100hrz 68 cm TV, and it looks great with the component connection.
