Complete newbie...

hi fellas, here's what I hope to be a very simple question, I do have a DVD-r burner on my desktop, but the software that came with it has produced no results in burning. what I am trying to accomplish is to burn a series of short clips onto DVD to be viewed on My DVD player (TV) what software do I need to use what terminology do I need to know, and where can I find a good tutorial.

You may stand a better chance of finding it as you have a idea on what you are doing we dont..

Download Nero (with Nero Vision Express 2) from nero.com (demo) and try burning your clips with NVE2...

If this dosn't work try to find out more about the clips with Gspot (for AVI-files) or Viritualdub for Mpeg....

If this dosn't help try to recode the clips using either Nero Recode (same download as above), TMpgenc og AVS Video Converter....

To be fair mate you will find that this site will be a little short with posts like yours. I am fairly new to this area as well but I have learnt rather quickly that people out there only want to help those that help themselves first (and rightly so). So, my advice to you is to be a little more forthcoming with details and I am sure you will get the answers you require. For starters:

What is it that you are trying to do?
What are these clips?
Where did they come from?
What output are you looking for?

Go to my profile and click on "search for my posts", you will find that I have asked many of the same questions and the terminology you are looking for will be there. Once you have the answers you can ask the question (bit cryptic that!) Good luck.
