  1. I'm just curious...

What media player do you currently have installed, and most frequently use for streaming video media, or download and play files?

I use WMP9 for mostly everything (except for MP3 playback, WinAmp handles that).

    Quicktime, iTunes for MP3s.

  3. Either Vegas 4.0, MMC, Soundforge, Cool Edit, Creative Player or Real One.

I have WMP, WINAMP, Quicktime and Power DVD...but rarely use any of those, since I really have no reason to.

  4. I use Windows Media Player 9 for most internet content. Quicktime (which I despise) for things like movie trailers, Real Player (worse than QT) for sites that don't offer any other format.

I also have PowerDVD and WinDVD installed for watching DVD's although I don't usually watch movies on my computer.

PowerDVD, WinDVD, and occasionally WMP. Funny, your poll did not mention the first two, as they are used a lot around here.

Media Player Class and WinDVD for me.

I install the real quicktime player as well as the real ... uhm... real one player. Then just actually play through MPC, that way I can stream also. Also I keep VLC around for those odd files.

I use wmp9 for most online content, unless it's in real format. For DVDs and mpeg2 files, I like to use WinDVD.

I also use itunes for audio files. I used to use winamp, but now i prefer to use itunes.

For DVDs I use Apple's DVD Player. For Other Files that Quicktime doesn't handle I keep MPlayerX and VLC installed.

when i watch vcd's or svcd's i'm constantly getting macro blocks on the screen w/ 5.. i even downloaded the updates and they still remain.. went back to 4/xp (w/ update) and it was fine..

just incase you were wondering, it isnt because of a scratched disc, i'm watching these s/vcd's from bin/cue images mounted through daemon tools.

Which media Player I use really depends on the file?

The default media player for me is WMP9 and the default for Mp3 record and play is MusicMatch.

I also got Mp3 Maker which does the same thing for music however have a wider choice of music source than MusicMatch.

I use WMP9 for most video playing including .avi and huffyuv and Internet Radio.

QTime for .mov and .qt videos. The DivX Player is another as obivious for these video files, .avi, .divx .div and the RealOne Player I rarely use.

Remember Spinner? It is on Netscape Radio now and this one can only play if RealOne Player is in the computer.

I rarely play a music CD on the computer. I use MusicMatch to play Mp3 versions of these songs even though I can use WMP9 and on any player I got on the computer such as RealOne Player and Winamp.

To play a DVD is really depends on the computer I use, it can be PowerDVD or WinDVD.

PowerDVD is a Win2000 computer and WinDVD is in the WinXP computer. Both seem to be the same enjoying a music DVD for example.
