  1. I purchased the Lite-on from Best Buy today and the BusLink (it is a NEC ND-1300A) from Staples. I own a Cendyne DVD -RW (Pioneer 105).

Which of these should I keep for backing up DVDs and which do I distribute to family?

    Thanks for the help,
    Jeff

  2. Why not find the best of the bunch and buy three of them then you don't have to worry about giving your family headaches trying to get theirs to work? I would say the best of the three is the Pioneer clone but with DVD burners so much hinges on the OS and other software use not to mention the computer it is installed in. A burner taht works great in your computer may be a total disaster in another so the choice will be tough!

  3. Thanks for your help. I initially thought I should replace the pioneer with the + - drives.

I have the Pioneer 105, an NEC 1300A, and a BTC 1004. I would say the NEC is the best drive for the buck by far. The BTC is crap and the Pioneer is great for cheap -r media, but isn't dual format so no + media.
