  1. hello

i just bought a dvd writer plextor PX 708A
and i want to put on some mpeg-1, avi, asf and other movie files onto one dvd, i use nero 5 software that was included with the writer
i'm new with the dvd writing.... i know how to write a vcd by just putting those files in the map and then burn and it works on my dvd player
but with a dvd-rom and i set it to dvd video trying to put those files in the video map, it sais i can only put vob files and other in there....
so i'm asking how can i turn all these movie files into a vob file or smth else?
coz i bought all these dvd's, i got dvd-r, dvd+r, dvd+rw but can't go any further when i can't even put a stupid file in the map..... pls help me out here

Go to the "Guides" section (over there <-<-<-) and click on the format conversion button. Scroll down to the conversion you want (ex. avi to DVD), then hit search guides and you will get a list of guides which will give you detailed instructions for what you are trying to accomplish.

  4. You have to read the guides. The forum can only help if you first study the guides and try a few things. You will then have specific questions people can help with. One word of advise. Do everything on RW first.

TMPGEnc has a 30 day trial period for mpeg2 encoding. It should work if you just got an official copy.
