  1. Im looking into to buying a surround sound system to compliment my DVD player, problem is that in my living room I have have wooden floors (no carpets or rugs) so I can't hide the wires anywhere, are there any wireless speakers on the market that are any good (im looking at 7.1) the normal 2 speaker wirless ones i've used before have been pretty naff. If anyone knows of any (specially if they are available in the UK) and can let me know before christamas then I may just be buying a present to myself.

  2. Sorry, but I highly doubt that you would be happy with any wireless speakers for a 7.1 setup. Besides you would still have to run power cords to them.

One suggestion would be to look into some of the flat speaker wire that you can "mud" onto the wall (have never tried them myself) or you could drill through the floor (If there is a basement below). Or buy rugs. Or get some quick connectors like banana plugs and just unwind the wire and plug the speakers in when you want to watch a movie (a hassle, but it works)

power cords are fine as I have them on all the walls where they would be situated

Sorry I should of said parquet flooring, so it's solid wooden blocks with concrete underneath so I cant' drill, and I think the wife would kill me if I tried to embed anything into the walls as we have just had the living room repainted , I presume having 5.1 instead of 7.1 isn't going to help my woes is it??

You will essentially have to buy an amplifier for each speaker. $$$$
Go in the attic and drop wires to the existing Power outlets,
