    My Panasonic DVD RV31 Manual says it will not play Pal Disc but, my neighbour just gave me a disc she did in Pal and it works fine. What the heck is going on. This would be a great thing to figure out but, sure is frustrating trying.

    What it probably means is that it won't play PAL region DVD's (2 etc). Though not owning a stand alone I don't know for sure.
