CD/DVD spindles (not the discs, but the holder)

anybody know where i can get CD/DVD spindles? you know, the containers that packs of CD/DVD come in? I use these alot and normally get them when i purchase blanks. however, the place i get my DVDs from apparently doesn't use the spindle with the rod that goes through the discs. they only put a thick disc on top and bottom.

i doubt there is a store to buy these from, but i'd be willing to pay for shipping if anybody is throwing these things away!!

my near retarded friends can barely turn a computer on and off let alone burn a cd!

the only other guy i know who has spindles, also burns and needs the spindles as well!

are there any sites in the U.S. that sells these things?

i don't want to pay and arm and a leg for shipping on something as cheap as these.

Have you thought of making your own?

Go to your local hardware store or wood supply shop and ask for a small off cut and a bit of dow (like a broom handle if they don't know what dow is) and then glue/screw the bit of dow onto the bit of off cut.

If your local hardware store/wood supplier is at all a half decent bloke the total cost of your project should be $1 or less plus you can make a huge spindle capable of holding 100's of CD/DVDs.
