Hopefully someone can direct me in the right direction.

I am trying to burn my home VHS to DVD. At every step of the way I have tried to play the files on the PC and they play without issue. When I get to the final step of actually putting the DVD into use it will not play in any standalone. The menus won't come up in a PC either.

However if I play the VIDEO_TS directory before burning, everything works fine.

The media I am using has worked 100% for all of my DVD backups using DVD Decrypter and ImgTool. So I am reasonably certain that the media is not at fault.

This is the process I used from start to finish -
Capture 2 hour video from VHS to AVI using Pinnacle DV500+ (25Gb file)
Use TMPGenc to convert to NTSC DVD bitrate 4300. (3.5Gb file)
Try multiple DVD Authoring software at this point
TMGPenc DVD Author to create ISO, directories and direct burn
Ulead Movie Factory to create ISO, directories and direct burn
Even tried Roxio.
Burned ISO's with authoring software and DVD Decrypter

Each of the VIDEO_TS directories playsed without fault. When I put the DVD's into a computer I can read the file structure and manually play them - they do not autostart no matter the settings in the authoring program, when I put them into the RCA 105N player, Xbox, or Apex standalone they all say invalid disc.

I did take a 20 minute sample and create a VCD, SVCD, and DVD using the same methods. The VCD and SVCD played with some menu issues, but the DVD did not.

Though I have learned a valuable lesson - no more DVD-R for home movies - RW all the way. To many coasters.

Hope someone can help.
