    I know Pioeer have had some problems in prior models with displaying SVCD subtitles, question is does this model have the same problem?

  2. I don't know that, but I bought a pioneer dv-444 yerterday and I will return it to the store today, because it is not able to play 2450 kbit/s VCD that my old Sony dvp 315 plays perfectly.

    Non of the Pioneer can play subs.

  4. Well I donīt know, but according to the vcdhelp list, quite a few Pioneer players are able to do subs.

    If anybody have first hand experience of the DV-444 ablity to display SVCD subs, feel free to speak up. (-;

  5. I own pioneer 434 and it DOES NOT do subtitles even though vcdhelp database says it does.
