  1. I have a Nec nd-1300 burner and i run winxp pro.
When i try to burn a Verbatim dvd-r 2x with Nero 6 it crashes when it's about to start burning. This also happens when i try to do a simulation.
When i try to burn a Verbatim dvd+rw Nero works fine.
When i turn of DMA Nero can burn the dvd-r fine.
The other software i have tried work just fine with DMA on.
What the hell is going on?

  3. To turn DMA off you have to go to the Device Manager, click on the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers and double click on the primary or secondary channel depending where you have your burner connected. Then go to Advanced Settings and change the "DMA if available" to "PIO only" for the burner.Mine is device 0.
I used Nero info tool to find out where my Dvd rw is connected.
