im having big trouble in capturing and authoring episodes pf a TV show onto DVD for personal use!!!, i capture from a VHS video player through a CANOPUS ADVC100 using winDV, when i take a look at the captured file it looks fine!! then i encode it using tmpegnc plus and the picture is what i call stripey(lines on moving sections) , then i authour with tmpeg authour and burn onto a DVD-r , but when played back the picture stutters, i have tried different media to no avail (all tried media works fine on other DVD burns), can anyone tell me what settings i should be using in tmpegnc plus for PAL DVD etc

Can you describe this in more detail or maybe take a screenshot or two and then post it so we can see exactly what it is you are talking about?

If the capture or DV transfer is indeed A-OK then it sounds as if you are doing something wrong in TMPGEnc though at this point it is hard to say what you are doing wrong without more details.

    P.S.
Are you sure you just aren't seeing INTERLACED video ... it sort of sounds like that. As for the stutter on the final DVD I'm not so sure (what the answer is) unless you are trying to encode INTERLACED video as NON-INTERLACED and doing it wrong in the process.
