I am having difficulties ripping two of my DVD collection. The rest ripped fine. I've tried Smartripper 2.41, cladDVD, DVDDecoder, and vstrip. All exhibit the exact same symptoms.

First, the two DVD's are "The Perfect Storm", and "Office Space"

    The symptoms are:
The file size seems fine, and the total lengh are also fine. However, about 1/2 way through, the same frame "sticks" and stays the same for the rest of the playback. It's the same for both.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Greg,

Have you tried ripping with a different drive? I found that ripping with my Benq 16x *sometimes* results in a DVD-R that will play fine on the PC, but does something similar to what you're experiencing, when played on a standalone player. If I rip it with my Pioneer A06 instead, everything's OK.

Actually I've tried it with 3 different drives. All with the same exact results. I've now tried 12 different rippers and dvd-divx programs. They ONLY program that has even come close so far is EasyDivx (Which rips the full video no problem, but absolutely no audio.) I'm still trying different rippers to see if I can find one that will actually work, but I am beginning to think I'm completely hosed.

    Thanks!

  4. I've backed up Office Space without any problems.
You might want to retry a DVD you already completed to see if it will now fail the same way these 2 have.
Maybe it's not those DVD's, maybe it's something with you're playback device, or a setting has changed. Try another playback device(software).

I did try your suggestion, and the other 3 that I ripped before Office Space, still ripped perfectly. But, I've gotten EasyDivX to successfully rip the entire DVD, however the audio is all messed up. It's a known issue I guess. So, now I just have to try and merge the seperate audio/video it produced into one. I'll get it eventually!!

    Thanks!
