I have a 700mb avi file which I'm trying to encode into an mpg2 with TMPGEnc. The encoding process seems to complete ok.
Windows Explorer reports the resulting mpg2 to be just under 4.2gb - fine.
However Ulead DVD Movie Factory 2 says the file contains no data and Gspot and Intervideo WinDVD both report the file size to be 384kb. Despite the fact that Windows Explorer saying its 4.2gb.
I'm running XP Pro, NTFS with a 40gb disk partition. The drive has been freshly defragmented.

And nothing plays when you try to open it?

Nothing plays at all
However, I've just foud out that if I set the bitrate a little lower to make the mpg2 just under 4gb, it all seems to work ok
I presume this is a hard disk or file index problem and I do plan to reformat the drive and start again in the near future. It would be nice to know what the problem is though.
