I bought my Pioneer 106 at BestBuy in June. It is the full retail version. It came with version 1.05 of the firmware. I didn't have any problems with it so I didn't update it. Now I decided to update to version 1.07 which I downloaded off of Pioneer's site at: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/article/top/one/0,,2076_4257,00.html
I then selected the file: AAR06v107.exe
When I ran this file it installed several files in a subdirectory and then ran a dos program that told me not to interrupt it. Then it gave me the following error: "Failed to move to the kernel mode".
What does this mean? My drive is listed as having version 1.05. Why won't it update to 1.07? Is there some jumper I need to switch or something? I tried searching for answers but couldn't find anything on how to upgrade firmware using an offical Pioneer drive with official Pioneer firmware.
I'm running Windows XP Pro. Let me know if you need more details.
Thanks.
