  1. I am a newbie and have backed up aprox. 20 DVDs. About half of them have a 1 second "freeze" around midway to 3/4 of the movie. I use DVD Decrypter 3.1.7.0, then DVD Shrink 3.0 Beta 5 and burn using NERO 5.5.10.50 Should I use other software or is this 1 second "freeze" normal? It doesn't bother me as the rest of the movie is fine (CRYSTAL CLEAR picture and PERFECT Audio) I am also using Ritek 4x DVD-R media and a Memorex 4x DVD+-R burner.

Could be a problem with the media, have you tested your material prior to burning to see if they play ok thru that spot?

  3. Yes, it plays fine when I view using PowerDVD from my hard drive. I haven't tried different media yet but I backed up "The Recruit" 3 times and it freezes for 1 second in the same exact spot on all 3 back ups. Would this still happen if I used a different brand of media?

Hm... From the position in time you mention, this sound like it could be some kind of layer break related maybe?

  5. Do you get that pause at the same place on the original disc.

  6. No, the originals are fine. I was also thinking it could be a layer break issue, but I was not sure if there was such a thing. Does anyone else experience this "freeze"?

  7. I get the freeze on layered dvds that are shop bought howeer when they are ripped it seems to eliminate this slight pause.
