So... new "sonic-ized" interface.
A few new features, but still a disturbing lack of awareness of DVD features.
The only kind of DVD it knows how to make are data discs. This isn't THAT much of a problem, after all - I mean, these "data" discs work fine in every player I've tried. But it's still a bit odd.

My understanding of Recordnow has been that when it sees an AUDIO_TS and or VIDEO_TS it knows its burning a movie and takes action without doing anything special. Of course that may just be some BS someone fed me, but I always assumed it was true since it works so well.

I too am becoming a RecordNow user. I now prefer it over Nero. That wasn't always the case. Had a few issues with the new Nero 6, swithched back to the older 5. series and then had a compatability issue with some backups on different free standing players...blah, blah, blah....it won't play on my machine...
Keeping the old 4.5 installed however.
Got turned off by Veritas originally with PrimoDVD, kept having writing failures when blanks weren't cheap, issues which now I think were partly the machine I was using 2 yrs ago.Jim -

Hey guys,
I have the RecordNow that came with my HP200i. The version by Veritas.
So far it has worked for me. Can you think of any benefit to me if I purchase 6.5?
I mainly burn video DVDs with the occasional CD or data DVD.
Thanks,Just what is this reality thing anyway? -

Actually tompika,he has the OLD version.Any of the 3 in the chart are newer and better than the Veritas Record Now.That was about as bare of a program there is.If he had Max 4.5,I would say stick with it.Record Now 6.5 is nothing like the Veritas product,in my opinion.

Thanks, TOMPIKA, but we must ask
HOPEFULLY that "seamless integration " hasn't actually been implemented...because SONIC's Idea of SEAMLESS INTERFACE a(at least on WINDOWS OFFERINGS) is anything but seamless..pretty funny that's a "FEATURE" of 6.5
also that intelligent DRAG and DROP..didn't know that the DRAG and DROP I've been using all this while was "STUPID drag and drop" -
Thanks guys.
I guess what I'd like to hear is that the latest one fixed some set-top player incompatabilities.
Any guesses on that?Just what is this reality thing anyway? -
There were set-top player incompatibilities with the old one?
