After upgrading the firmware in my HP DVD 200i to 1.51 I am was no longer able to burn CD's. I then downgraded my firmware to 1.36 I am still not able to burn cd's. I am able to burn dvd's w/o a problem. I have tried Nero, Easy CD, and Record now. I have also tried the drive on another boot drive so I'm pretty sure it is drive and not software related.
Anyone else have this issue? I understand that firmware 1.51 actually modifies the laser functionality a bit so when I down rev'd the firmware did it really reset everything that the 1.51 upgrade had done?
I also have tried upgrading to the 1.64 firmware that is listed on this site. However, the RFlash Utility always says the following immediately after I click start:
Fail to update.
*** NG ** NG ** NG ***
Turn OFF PC and Reboot it.
Thanks.
