I have a movie on a DVD-R which will play on my PC but which won't play on my standalone. My standalone only plays DVD+R (Wharfdale DVD750).

    Here's my question.

If I copy the DVD-R to the PC (with Decrypter) and then burn to a blank DVD+R, should it play on my standalone ??

    Many thanks,

    Moonstomp.

There's no need to rip it with DVD Decryptor since it's already been decrypted. Just do either of the following:

    1) Open up the source dvd and drag the VIDEO_TS folder onto your HD. Then burn the contents onto a DVD+R using your usual method. OR...

    2) Use the disc copy function that most burning programs have.

If your standalone plainly states that it will play DVD+R, and won't play DVD-R's, then logic dictates that you'll have a higher probability of success once you move the flick over to a DVD+R. The data will not change. Only the way in which it is burnt onto the disc will change. Good luck.

    Thanks Bodene !!

Copying the VIDEO_TS to the HD and burning to DVD+R with Nero did the trick.

    Cheers,
