I use ffmpegX a lot (I even registered) but since 0.0.9 I've noticed a slight problem with VCD encoding:
I sometime download VCD compliant mpeg-1 movies which are hjsplit.
After rejoining them Toast doesn't always like them and then refuses to burn them.
So I've gotten in the habit of re-encoding them as VCD with ffmpegX and the VCD quick preset (which prevents this problem and doesn't take very long on my new G5).

This always worked perfectly until 0.0.9
With 0.0.9 or 0.0.9a when I try this the progres window goes stripy as it preprocesses the mpeg. Finally it fails, telling me it can't find the WAV file.

BTW: This still works perfectly well with ffmpegX 0.0.8d (which I kept luckily): tried the exact same file as the example below and no problems at all!
The output in terminal is quite different under 0.0.8 to 0.0.9...
I'm not an expert but is it possible yuvscaler is called differently in 0.0.9 and that's why it fails?

  2. The difference in 0.0.9 is that when "Decode with Quicktime" is enabled, it is always used (before it was only used for VOB or MOV input).

Now using "Decode with Quicktime" with MPG input currently fails because Quicktime can't export raw audio from a MPG file. This will be addressed in future versions.

As a consequence, you should disable "Decode with Quicktime" when encoding MPG files.

    Ah, that works fine.

Thanks a lot Major (now I don't have to switch between versions anymore)
