99min cds are available here in the US. I've tried the 99min CDs from COMPUSA (major retailer) and it worked
well with my LG 8160b burner. I was able to burn
my VCDs at 16x. -
You say you were able to burn with the LG8160b at 16x?
I have a few questions;
1 - What software were you using and what version?
2 - Which brand of media?
3 - 99min is actually 830mb, exactly how much did you get out of it?
4 - What speed were you able to use for overburning with this drive to 830mb?
(I could make may assumptions from your post, that is why I am asking the specifics...)
I am considering buying this burner, and I use nero.

Answers to loud's Qs:
1. Nero 5.5.4.0
2. The brand is actually "COMPUSA".
3. I was able to overburn upto 99min
4. Even with/overburning I was able to burn at 16x speed
which actually kinda surprised me.
BTW, the media is actually rated at 24x.
FYI, I think the LG8160b burner is on sale at BestBuy for $79 after rebates. -
Just over burned a compusa 99min CD last night with my LG 8080b. SVCD 480x480 capture using Dazzle DVC2. Burned with Nero 5, I was able to burn 872mb on the 850mb disc. Got my burner a Compuvest.com for $76.00 total shipped.

HELP!!! I can't find these CompUSA 99-min CD-Rs in their website. And I don't live near in any of their stores. Any other place I can buy 90/99-min CD-Rs?

I believe someone had posted the actual part/stock # of this
item. Use that number instead to search the COMPUSA site.
