    I have a Kodak camera that takes good stills and decent video with sound, but the file sizes are HUGE! I want to ask if there is any free programs out there to convert them to MPEG 1 or something with a little better compression (for the video). TY in advance for the help.

    I forgot to say that the video is in quicktime....so thats what I want to convert!

  3. There is a QT plugin for TMPGEnc - the free version of TMPGEnc will convert to MPEG-1 (VCD).

    See the tools section for these.

    Try looking at the guides over on the left if you want more detailed guidance; you can select the format conversion you want to do (e.g. MOV to MPG).
