  1. If I convert an.avi file with TMPGEnc and later author it with IfoEdit and then find that the result is out of synch, is it possible to find out if the problem emanates from TMPGenc or from IfoEdit? I suppose my question really is if I can find out if the output from TMPGenc is in synch or not.

    Grateful for your help.

Have you tried playing the encode with Windows Media Player or a software DVD player like PowerDVD?

First thing is to check the AVI for bad frames. Then once you confirm it is okay, make a MPEG with TMPGEnc and see if it is still okay. If it is out of synch at this point, you can strip the wave from the AVI and convert to an MPEG using the wave. Then make the m2v and mp2 (mpa) with TMPGEnc. I do believe your problem is somewhere in there.
    Hello.
