    Hi,
You can't get any newbier than me. I don't even have a Video Editing machine yet (Will buy one soon). My question is, if you could give me one single big TIP on what would be the best way in your opinon to learn Video Editing / DVD Authoring...what would it be ????

I'm thinking about reading a couple of books (If you have read any good books, please let me know as I'm not sure which ones to read.)

My personal favorite method it simply jump in the fire, start playing with the software etc... Still would like to know how you learned!!!

This website is a MUST. But are there any others that could help also?

Another tricky question, I'm thinking of buying a NEW Computer for Video Editing.
Would This computer be ok ?
    ---P4 (2.4c) or (2.6) ghz
---1 GID PC 3200 400mhz ram (Don't think the low latency would be worth the extra cash, if you have any information on this, please let me know.)
---120 GB or 160 GB HARD Drive (w/ 8m cache).
    128 Meg Video Card.

Big question is should have Capture with my video card (VIVO) or buy an additional tool to convert the VIDEO ? I want to convert all my VHS to DVD so would the following product be good (INSTANT DVD 2.0)

    http://www.adstech.com/products/USBAV702/intro/usb702intro.asp?pid=USBAV702

If you have this product, please let me know how you find it.

Thanks in advance for the time to reply to my message. All replies appreciated!!!
Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a gift and not giving it.

    Regarding the PC setup...

I would add a second HDD just for the capture. Best not to have the OS on the same HDD as you use to capture and encode your video.
