  1. Well i obtained a movie (approx 23 min in legnth) and when i watch it, in media player or anything, its fine. Audio is there as well as video. But when i encode it with the latest version (or any version for that matter) of TMPG Enc. I get video but no sound! please help me out! thanks.

    Test your avi with Gspot and tell us what it says under audio. Probably AC3, make sure you have the codec installed, Gspot will say. Extract the audio from your avi to a wav file with Goldwave, just load the avi then save, use the wav as the audio source for TMPGEnc.

    -audio is 0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3, 0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3

    -video is div3 , DivX 3 Low-Motion, 640x480 (1.33:1) [=4:3]

    If the audio is Variable bitrate (VBR) encoded MP3 then TMPGEnc can't handle it. You need to extract the audio to wav and use the wav as the audio source for TMPGEnc. You can extract it with Goldwave or with Virtualdub-MP3.
