  1. Does anyone actually have a LiteOn LVD-2002? Or know of any substantial difference between it and the 2001 short of the case and the lack of a PCMCIA slot?

I am looking into buying one of these (either, really) and don't want to be caught with yesterday's technology. At the same time, I have been completely incapable of finding any information (even on LiteOn's site). Any help would be appreciated.

    thanks

  2. Well, here's some info from Liteon's site: http://www.liteonit.com.tw/DC/english/lvd_2002_2.htm

Anyone seen any reviews of this player? I'd like to know how it stacks up against the LVD-2001. So far I know that it doesn't suppor the 1080i output and doesn't have the card reader. Beyond that I'm stumped...

  3. I am now the proud owner of an LVD-2002. The only differences that I can find are the lack of the slot and 720p/1080i outputs. Since I don't have a use for those, I am happy.

Playback of DivX3.11 seemed fine (didn't watch the whole thing). The secret menu is still there. The remote control seems better than before. I have yet to test folders.

That is all I can think of. Let me know if you have any other specific questions.

Great news Pigsfly!! Thanks for letting me know. Is there any way you could post a picture of the remote?

Does the 2002 play WMA files?

    Thanks!

  5. Sorry about the delay. I got tied up in a bunch of stuff.

I assume that you have seen the picture of the new remote in the other thread. A few more things:

    - Folders still don't work.
    - No PBC on SVCDs
    - PBC on VCDs
    - WMA works fine at 160kbps (all I had to test)
(that is a WMA music file, I don't have any Divx with WMA sound)
    - DivX3.11 320x240 500kbps encode played perfectly
    - PAL VCD played fine on NTSC TV

    That's all I got.

  6. Haven't tried Dvix 3.11 with low bitrate, but the one with ~1200 bitrate still stutters and freezes. no good.
