I did some searching and never really found a definitive answer. Why is this used in avisynth, and what other options are there. From what i understand so far there is RGB YUY and a bunch of other formats. What is the best to use, i understand that YUY is best for capturing, but what if you already have a DVD source to work from? Should the encoding be done with something other than YUY for better quality, or would the quality worsen due to the higher bitrate requirements for other formats?
