  2. I don't know if this is possible as I have never tried it. However, I have noticed on DVD Shrink that once after you have re-authored your DVD and you click on the backup button to save the new DVD to hard drive, it asks you to select region. I have always clicked on region 2 and copied it to the drive. However, I have never tried (and have no way of testing) what would happen if I selected say region 1 and someone tried that on a region 1 player.

I could be completly wrong but have a try and see how it goes. Let me know.

  5. I regularly convert home movies for a neighbour who sends them to relatives in the USA.

He gets them converted commercially to region two DVD's and I transfer to region one including PAL to NTSC re-encoding.

  6. Hi Duchess

How do you do the re-encoding? I have a region 0 NTSC DVD which plays in Black & White on my mate's telly. I'd like to convert it to PAL somehow.

    Cheers

  7. I just ripped to MPG and then passed it through TMPGEnc, then re-encoded to VOB's with IFO Edit. OK the sound gets out of sync but the fact that the only sound on these home video's is the camera wielders comments, means it doesn't matter.
